My kids love baked pasta, but lasagna is too time-consuming. My solution: This make-ahead ravioli lasagna. It tastes the same but I don’t have to spend hours in the kitchen to make it. It’s also much easier to prepare. I layer frozen ravioli with a meat and onion mixture, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Quick, easy, and delicious. You can even assemble the ravioli lasagna the night before and bring it to room temperature before baking it. Make a couple of casseroles and freeze them for later!

- olive oil: 1 Tbsp
- yellow onion: 1, diced
- ground beef: 1 lb
- salt and pepper, to taste
- marinara sauce: 1 jar
- frozen cheese ravioli: about 48, square
- shredded mozzarella cheese: 2 cups
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet set over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 4-5 minutes. Add the ground beef and season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until browned. Drain excess fat.
Step 3: Prepare the lasagna. Spread a thin layer of sauce in the bottom of a glass 8x8-inch baking dish. Top with a layer of ravioli (don't overlap!), then 1/2 of the meat mixture, sauce and 1/3 of the cheese. Repeat with another layer in the same order. Top with one more layer of ravioli, sauce, and cheese.
Step 4: Cover with aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5-8 minutes, until the cheese is uniformly melted.
Step 5: Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing into pieces and serving
