Israeli-born actress Natalie Portman’s new baby boy is named after the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet.
Sources have revealed to major media outlets that new parents Natalie and Benjamin Millepied have named their son Alef – or Aleph, depending on how they’ve decided to spell it.
The meaning behind the name is also “oneness of God” and the “element of air.” It’s esoteric meaning in Judaic Kabbalah relates to the origin of the universe, the “primordial one that contains all numbers.”
What do you think of the name they chose? I’m actually pretty surprised we are being given ANY details on the new baby – Natalie has been very private and protective of any info regarding him.
