Grilled Strawberry Shortcake Recipe
Grilled strawberry shortcake: light, quick, and delicious!
- fresh strawberries: 16
- angel food cake wedges: 4
- whipped cream: on the side
Step 1: Heat your grill to its medium setting (or prepare charcoals for grilling). Hull the strawberries (that's fancy talk for removing the tops) and then place four strawberries each onto four skewers.
Step 2: Place the strawberry skewers on the grill and grill, turning once, for about 5 minutes. The strawberries are done when they have grill marks on both sides and are softened.
Step 3: Place the angel food cake wedges on the grill and grill until just toasted—about 1 minute per side.
Step 4: To serve, place one angelfood cake wedge on each of four plates. Top with a strawberry skewer and as much whipped cream as desired. Enjoy!
